Aftercare Instructions — Initial Each

Eyebrows — What to Expect & How to Care

Slight swelling or soreness with varying degrees of redness. Color will appear 30–40% darker than when healed. This treatment is not considered complete until the 6-week touch-up is finished. Day of procedure: pat lightly with soft tissue every 10 min for the first 2 hours. Days 2–7: wash lightly with warm water and mild soap using fingertips; apply a small amount of After Inked or grapeseed oil 1x daily with a Q-tip. Peeling or sloughing may occur — DO NOT PICK. Avoid direct shower spray, night creams, moisturizers, Retin-A, soaps, and direct sunlight while healing.

Lips — What to Expect & How to Care

Day of procedure: swelling may occur, color will appear 40% darker, and lips can feel chapped or dry. Day 1: pat lips every 10 min with a damp clean cotton pad for the first 2 hours, then every 1–2 hours. Day 2: wash lips with mild soap and water using fingertips; rinse and pat dry. Continue patting every 2–3 hrs to remove lymphatic fluid. Avoid extended-wear lipstick, plumping gloss, teeth bleaching for 3 weeks, getting lips wet, salt water, and high-sodium foods for at least 3 days. Lips tend to fade 40–50% and color can hide for 2 weeks before blooming over the following 28 days.

Eyeliner — What to Expect & How to Care

Various degrees of swelling may occur. Color will appear 40% darker than when healed. Treatment is not complete until the 6-week touch-up — may require a 3rd touch-up for desired density. Sleep propped up or on your back to reduce swelling. Dry healing process. If eyes weep or tear, pat lightly with soft tissue. Day of procedure & Day 2: wash eyes with mild soap and water, rinse well, pat dry, apply nothing. Days 3–6: morning and night wash with mild soap and water (no scrubbing), then apply a small amount of grapeseed oil with a Q-tip to the lash line. No mascara/eyeliner for 2 weeks. Change pillowcase nightly. Your eyeball should NOT become more red — if you see bloodshot eyes or pus, seek medical attention immediately.

Follow For All Procedures

A touch-up procedure is required to consider any PMU procedure complete. The 6–12 week touch-up must occur in that window — rescheduling will require additional touch-up costs. Avoid makeup, Retin-A and glycolic acids on pigmented areas while healing. Avoid touching with fingers, sunscreens, direct sun, tanning beds, and self-tanners. Avoid swimming pools, oceans, hot tubs, saunas, and hot steamy showers. Shower with your back to the shower head. Avoid dirt (gardening) and extreme perspiration (gym) for the first week. Don't be alarmed if pigment comes off on a Q-tip during aftercare, or by fading after the first application — final color cannot be judged until 2 weeks post-procedure. Never use topical antibiotics unless prescribed. Notify any technician of your iron-oxide cosmetic tattoo before a chemical peel, MRI, laser hair removal, or Photo Facial — IPL may turn pigment black. Red Cross policy requires waiting one year after tattooing to donate blood.
